CAST:
We are approaching Academy Award Nominated Actresses between the ages of 40 and 70 to play Charlene, who is a complex multilayered character who begs us to ask; ‘Is she a good woman forced to do bad things? Or is she just bad?’ Hollywood does not write many roles for women in this age group so we have a great opportunity to find an extremely talented actress who will give a tremendous performance.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
BEING STRANDED IN THE DESERT IS A FEAR THAT EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO. Imagine when we push that fear to it’s extreme.
STRANDED tells everyones immediately what kind of film this is and what the basic story line is. The film is filled with new twists and deeper characters that will surprise and engage audiences. While the movie GET OUT plays off themes of race, STRANDED explores the gap between the rich and the poor and dives into class warfare.
We intend to make this movie more of an A level film, that transcends its genre roots. Instead of gore, we use suspense to build the tension in a more sophisticated and terrifying way. With a great cast, fantastic crew, and an amazing location, we’ll take the audience on an exciting ride that they won’t ever forget.
BUSINESS PLAN:
Thrillers and horror movies are in great demand. They can be produced on a modest budget without expensive stars and still perform incredibly well at the box office and get attention from the critics and film festivals. Survival stories are inherently visual and translate well into foreign territories so any audience can relate to the characters’ plight.
We model our production after the film GET OUT which cost 5 million dollars to make and returned 255 million dollars and received three Academy Award Nominations and one Win. A ‘so so’ thriller will make it’s money back but a great suspense thriller comes with prestige and a tremendous financial upside.
STRANDED and its SEQUELS were developed with the intention of building a MOVIE FRANCHISE, which may ultimately become the most lucrative aspect of the project.
