at SHADOW RANCH in JOSHUA TREE
1990’s used phone modems at 56K. Files had to be small to accommodate slow transmission, that’s why images look small today. Formatted for 1999 technology.
We’re making FUTURIST ADVENTURE FILMS about a group of idealists move out deep into the Joshua Tree Desert, to found a fun, off the grid, progressive, self sufficient community in 2033. They’re living a great life, when in the cities, the grid goes down. Because they are on solar, the village is safe. A bomb is dropped, that spreads a fungus that destroys all gun powder: GUN POWDER FUNGUS. No battle with ammo, and firearms become useful.
The people around become desperate and sear. The village has to protect it self, and become a left wing militia. Created story in 1999.
The stories are spread over a 100 years on the same piece as of land. This was first written in the late nineteen nineties, but is more relevant now more than ever. These are my predictions.

All the imagery originated on 35mm film and early digital cameras, then composited on consumer Mac computers from the 1990’s using Photoshop and Cinematte. It’s not perfect but you get the idea and the flavor. It was very labor intensive to get a clean matte line. Which is interesting now in it’s easy to identify its layers. The 90’s Last millennium website was created in the 70’s and completed in 1999 You’ll need to enlarge the images on your browser.
